Los Olivos Sideways Tour
Los Olivos Sideways Tour
Once a year my husband and I head out on a mini road trip to a quaint little place called Los Olivos. Los Olivos is west of the coastal town, Santa Barbara.
Santa Ynez Valley is home to rolling hills, happy cows & a good number of wineries.
Fess Parker is one of our favorites, Fess Parker has to locations along with a picturesque tasting room. I have not visited the Santa Barbara location (yet).
Fess Parker portrayed Davy Crockett & Daniel Boone way back when, his son Elli is in this next photo from a portrait hanging in the Inn.
The food, grounds and service is phenomenal.
This visit usually takes place in the beginning of April, we celebrate an important date. Sides Hardware & Shoes a Brothers Store is where this dinner picture was taken. Delectable food paired with exceptional wine. Just don’t get tripped up by the name.
Just a short ride up Foxen Canyon the winery is located. A great place to sip on some wine and soak in the beautiful country.
The Foxen Canyon Wine Trail is home to some of the most accomplished winemakers in California, where you will find a diverse selection of world class wines.
The Demetria Estate is one of the prettiest place to taste wine in Santa Barbara County, and the wine can definitely hold it’s own. Call ahead to make a tasting reservation. You’ll drive a little ways up Foxen Canyon, enter a secret passcode at a large gate, and then drive upon a narrow lane through some of the most beautiful countryside in the area, pulling up to a large estate with a huge yellow door and be seated on a sunny courtyard, and enjoy some very fine tastes of rosé, Pinot Noir and Syrahs.
Unfortunately the picture taken by a a friendly patron, turned out blurry. ):
I have visited the Santa Ynez Wine Country, simply beautiful.
