5 Quick Daily Clean Up Tips That Will Have Friends & Family Asking “How Do You Do It?”

5 Quick Daily Cleaning Tips

You know those women who always appear to have it all together? Their house is always in order. Their kids always have clean faces and combed hair. Her husband always comes home to a set dinner table with a 3 course dinner cooked with organic vegetables from the backyard?

You know, the one that has everyone asking “How does she do it?”

Well, here are 5 quick easy habits that you could add to your daily routine, that just might get your friends and family scratching their heads in amazement and wondering the same about your secret to being a domestic goddess.

1- Make the beds. A house with neat made up beds gives off a neat and orderly feel. It takes 10 minutes in the morning to swoop through your house with this eye appealing task, finishing up just in time to pour a cup of coffee that was brewing at the same time. Straight out of a Leave it to Beaver episode. (Lol)

2- Pick up clutter. Dirty laundry, shoes, junk mail, jackets, dishes, blankets, toys, pretty much all the things that the husband and kids spread around the evening before. It’s actually a quick sweep through the room to room. It does look like a timely task, it’s really quite opposite though.
Honestly, it takes 5 minutes (as long as you don’t allow yourself to get distracted) just pretend your mother in law is making a surprise visit and you have 5 minutes to Tasmanian Devil through the rooms.

3- Pinesol- I learned this trick from my grandmother. She would fill the sink in the mornings with Pinesol and warm water. While sipping on her morning cup of hot java, she would wipe down the countertops, door knobs, stove top and even get down on her knees spot wiping the floor. many times I heard visitors say “Your house is always so clean” or “Your house always smells so clean” ENDLESS amounts of compliments. She’s been gone now for 20 years and still to this day it comes up in reminiscing about our childhoods.

4- Sink Fixtures- This tip comes from my Dad, unlikely source, right? My Dad was visiting me last year over Father’s Day weekend. I was shinning my stainless steel kitchen appliances with my favorite stainless steel cleaner and a microfiber cloth. He said, “You know if you just shine up your kitchen and bathroom sink faucets like that every morning, it makes a big impression on your home looking clean.” I thought to myself for a moment, hmmm I don’t know why I hadn’t thought of that before. I’ve been doing it ever since.

5- The Crockpot- Make the crockpot your best friend. There are so many fast and delicious crockpot recipes out there. A little bit of meal planning at the grocery store and a few minutes in the morning reaps a lot of rewards. I try to meal plan for 1 week intervals, crockpot meals are so easily completed with a salad and frozen bag of veggies. Not to mention your kids & husband will carry on the memories of yummy food smells filling the air forever. Small things sometimes make the biggest impact.

There you have it, my 5 daily routines that help me maintain my domestic goddess status.
